LAST POST FUND

OUR MISSION

The Last Post Fund’s mission is to ensure that no Veteran is denied a dignified funeral and burial, as well as a military gravestone, due to insufficient funds at the time of death.

Its primary mandate is to deliver the Veterans Affairs Canada Funeral and Burial Program which provides funeral, burial and grave marking benefits for eligible Canadian and Allied Veterans.

To honour Remembrance Day, our flag was lowered to half-mast at the National Field of Honour. As we were once again unable to gather for a ceremony due to ongoing COVID restrictions, we have produced this video to commemorate Veterans and their loved ones buried there.

STATEMENT FROM THE LAST POST FUND REGARDING DISCOVERIES OF UNMARKED BURIALS AT INDIAN RESIDENTIAL SCHOOLS

Montréal July 13, 2021

The Last Post Fund is profoundly saddened by the ongoing discoveries of unmarked graves at multiple sites of former Indian Residential Schools across Canada. At this difficult time, we wish to extend our solidarity and our deepest sympathies to grieving family and community members and to all survivors of residential schools.
