
How to Apply for a Grave Reservation at the Last Post Fund National Field of Honour in Pointe-Claire, Québec
Burial at the National Field of Honour is reserved for Canadian and allied war veterans, including members of the Merchant Navy, as defined in the Letters Patent of the Last Post Fund ( World War II and the Korean Conflict). Also eligible are:
The Field of Honour makes no distinction between classes of applicants (i.e. rank), Last Post Fund financially supported burials or burials paid for by the deceased’s estate.
The cost of reservations will include:
One spouse or member of the eligible person’s immediate
family may be buried in the same plot or niche as the eligible person.
No more than one (1) marker shall be installed on any one plot. In a plot or niche with two burials, the marker inscription shall indicate the names of both deceased interred.
The marker shall be provided by the Last Post Fund.
The marker shall be of the flat-type, made of granite and shall be 30,48 cm (12 in.) wide x 50,8 cm (20 in.) long x 7,62 cm (3 in.) thick.
The marker shall be inscribed in accordance with Last Post Fund specifications at time of burial.
All markers shall be placed in line at the head of the plot.
The size of the Columbarium niches (1 cubic foot) restricts the size of the urns to a maximum of 11 3/4 inches height x 11 3/4 inches width x 5 3/4 inches depth.
