It is located within the Fairview Lawn Cemetery in Halifax, Nova Scotia at the northern end of Windsor Street.
Who may be inurned at the Nova Scotia Veterans’
Columbarium?
The Columbarium is open to all Veterans (along with their spouse) who served during World War II, the Korea War, during Peacetime and in Special Duty Areas, and to those who served with the WWII Merchant Marine.
What is included in the cost?
The cost of a niche in the Nova Scotia Columbarium is very reasonable. A one-time fee includes:
- One double niche;
- Opening and closing of the niche; and
- Two inscriptions on the niche plaque.
What size is a niche and what size urn(s) may
be placed there?
A niche at the Nova Scotia Veterans’ Columbarium is one cubic foot. Two urns may be placed in the niche. Please make sure that any urn proposed for the Columbarium does not exceed the measurements of the niche. The maximum size of an urn must be 11¾" height x 11¾" width x 5¾" depth.
