Dedicated by the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario in May 2004, the
Ontario Field of Honour is located in a dignified natural setting
adjacent to the Korea Veterans National Wall of Remembrance.
Where is the Ontario Field of Honour located?
It is located in Section 01 of the Meadowvale
Cemetery in Brampton, Ontario, south of Steeles Avenue,
north of Highway 407, at the following address:
Meadowvale Cemetery
7732 Mavis Road
Brampton, ON L6Y 5L5
Who may be buried at the Ontario Field of Honour?
The Field of Honour is open to all Veterans who served during World War II, the Korean War,
during Peacetime and in Special Duty Areas. Veterans' spouses
(or another immediate family member) may also be buried there.
What type of burial/marker is available at the Ontario Field of Honour?
The section offers single graves, which can accommodate two caskets
or two urns. Based on cemetery regulations for the section, a flat
granite marker may be placed for a Veteran in the
Ontario Field of Honour. Upon request from the family, space may
be left on a Veteran’s flat marker to accommodate a second
inscription.
How can arrangements be made for the Ontario Field of Honour?
Plots are offered at a reasonable cost.
Once service eligibility is determined, the Ontario Office of the
Last Post Fund will assign a plot for the Veteran and inform the Meadowvale
Cemetery that the burial will take place. Interment can be arranged
and paid directly at the cemetery.
If eligibility is not established under the Funeral and Burial Program, interment fees and cost of a grave marker become the responsibility of the family or the estate and must be arranged at the cemetery.
If you wish to make arrangements for release of a plot at the Ontario Field of Honour or should you require more information, please contact:
